where are you going to measure this pressure/vacuum reading from? before or after te afm? what are your readings with oem parts and w/o? and why do you want to cut it...it really wont do any difference. skib is correct. i've done dyno's with my stock blue box on and off...1 hp difference which could have been from a fuel/air/vacuum/exhaust or any number of reasons. maybe my shifts were better idk...so if i can dig through m boxes i will find my dyno papers and post them.

its not really worth the time and money to test things like that IMHO. we can all use a little common sense on things like that. its like running a car without water, we dont need testing to find out what happens to it.

also blue, expect to pay somewhere around $4-5k to get everything to just make the wolf system to work, then another $2-3k for the EDIS.

It might be amusing to see how much time and money you think that would cost.
I've gotta hand it to ya, yer a character. First you bring up "common sense" then prove the lack of it by saying one need not know about possible inefficiency's, and then comparing that to running with no coolant. Methinks you need to check your cam timing, sounds a little retarded...

Nope, that one cost more, 250$, and it got 27.5, but it's a neat ride... Even has fresh(3 stage pearl) paint. I couldn't stand tearing it up, so I kept it and got the 110$ one for the z.
They're a matched set, both same year and colors. The 110$ even came with the complete Ford miniature supercolider wiring harness.

I got bored today and I had a later style air box laying around I decided to cut it open for ***** and giggles.
And to be honest? I like it! Has a nice throaty sound down it. And it maybe helped HP a little bit. Throttle is a little snappier. So I took it out sanded it and painted it black then tossed it back in lol Looks nice

[QUOTE=BlueKitsune;264484]I dont think theres a point to do it. There next to nothing for the intake side. hence why a CAI does about nothing to start with. just put a K&N Filter in your stock box

I agree..it has worked well in my ZX. That K & N filter was a good upgrade. Let's it breathe a little better.

Awesome! I'll be doing this over the weekend.
Even have some black paint too!

As for the AFM, I noticed the car in the pic listed with the cut airbox doesn't have it (or it's in a different place). Why is that?

Its running a Wolf 3D ECU, you can replace the large bulky air flow meeter with a newer airflow sensor with after market ECU's

Heres my new Airbox, I just cut off the entire mouth piece. And 2 squares in the very front. Now I just need to get a K&N Filter!
