Cruise controll

you guys are probably going to think i'm stupid but i don't have an owners manual and i can't figure out how to work the cruise control could some one tell me how to operate it thanx

If I remember correctly, you push the on switch for the CC which is located on the right side under the instrument cluster, get to whatever speed above 40 that you want to cruise at. Then on the signal stalk, there is a tiny part on it that you push either left or right. I think you push it right to set. Then to speed up you push right, to slow down you push left. The brakes will or switching to the switch to off will cancel your CC. You have to push that switch on the signal stalk kinda hard, or at least on my Z have to.

On my '82 you have to push a button in on the end of that stalk to set the cruise speed. Then you can press the other switch to the side to increase speed but there is no setting to decrease... strange. You have to turn it off and then slow down and re-set the speed to change to a slower speed. The button on the dash is the same. I think there may be a difference in design on the 1980-81 and 82-83 models.
