coolant lines on t/b?

okay, i might sound stoooopiddd. but why are there coolant hoses running through the throttle body? i always thought that you wwanted as cool and dense air as possible for max power. and these lines come straight from the engine block. why would you want to heat the t/b and air? and will it screw up my ride if i disconnect them?

Those lines are to keep the TB from locking up in colder weather. And although the lines may heat the air some, it is an incredibly miniscule ammount.
Storms have the same setup and for a while that was the "magical mod" to do for cheap HP, but pretty soon people realized that there was NO GAIN whatsoever in performance. So it's a waste of time to bypass it. But if you want to then go for it, I have never heard of anyone having any problems with it locking up.
