coolant lines

I have an 86 na 300zx. Ive recently rebuilt, block bored, heads reworked, gaskets, etc... At the back of the intake there are two coolant lines, one to the water housing and one to the intake. If these get switched, would that put coolant into the head? I am asking this question because there is white smoke coming out of the exhaust. It doesnt smell like coolant but Im thinking it has to be. I believe that it can only be the lines, the intake cracked or a faulty intake gasket. Any ideas?

thanks....

Are you asking: into the head water passages, or into the combustion chamber??? Unless you are pressurizing the coolant lines too much, it would be impossible to force coolant into the combustion chamber just by reversing 2 hoses... Something else would blow first anyway. If you are burning coolant right after a rebuild, you may have installed a headgasket wrong...
