Bowtie Burger!!!

Bowtie Burger!!!
Just thought I'd let you guys know...
A guy at work has a '93 LT1 Z28 and as most Camaro owners, he thinks it's the baddest car other than the 'Vette. Finally, we got to run and I had a Bowtie burger and fed him a slice of humble pie!! We rolled off at about 30mph and ran for about 2.5 to 3 miles. He was never in the lead! He said we got up to about 160mph, but I'm not sure about that.
I'm real proud of my car, I wasn't sure what would happen. She held up nicely.
Anybody else have any stories? I'd like to hear some.

Ah not really, my car is NA so I dont have that much juice, but most everyone thinks its an early 80s sportscar with a not very big engine that its going to be SLOW, and I used to go to the local cruise strip and wail on anything from 80's - early 90's 5.0 Mustangs and Camaro RS+'s, Tarus SHO's, Porsche 944's, etc. Then you got your ricers who all think they have the edge over you until you rev it up to 5 grand and drop the clutch in 2nd gear letting them squel. One time this mid 90s Grand AM GT or Grand Prix whatever it is tried to not let me in when my lane was ending but by the time i was doing a good 95 or so he didnt have much say in that.

Dude that's awesome. 30-160mph and he never passed? Yeah you can pretty much say you burnt him. I've only beaten 1 Z28 and it was either a 95 or 96. The only other times I have run a Camaro was an 00 SS that beat me by a tenth and a 99 Z28 that beat me by .045. Still though, glad to hear to you won your race, congrats.

Well, the most fun I've ever had besides smoking Cameros and the like was when I lived in Mississippi.
My brother in law just bought an '86 Ferrari Mondail and wanted to run it. He knew I went up the highway every Sunday morning to "blow it out" and keep the motor running good in my '83zx n/a. So the very next Sunday morning, we went for my usual 5 mile, foot to the floor, motor blow. Since he wasn't familliar with the route he followed me...and was really impressed, but that wasn't enough. He really wanted to run.
He went to college with a few guys that later became Mississippi Sate troopers and he gave them a call and told them we were going to run. He got us a '96 Camero Trooper escort and all of the intersections were blocked off.
Well, our rear escort said he'd blow his siren when he couldn't keep up any more.
Since I have a digital dash, I really couldn't tell how fast were going, but he said that when I started to fade back we were going about 145.
THAT was fun!!!
