aspirator fan...HELP

aspirator fan...HELP
so in my 280zx i jus bought a new (slightly used) aspirator fan to replace the existing one since it made a clicking noise which was driving me crazy! now its doing it again! No idea whats wrong but my main question is can i disconnect it and leave it disconnected without having any problems??
