Anybody Installed MSD or Crane Ign?
Last night I fried my ignition, it was one of those "operation was a success but the patient died" stories. Anyway, Do the Crane and MSD systems replace all the stock electronics in the dist? (I want to be sure that whatever I fried gets replaced.) Also, are they "drop in" or "plug-n-go" or will they require a lot of tweeking? Does MSD have a website? I found Crane but not MSD.
Thanks again.

Found My Mistake
Found my mistake, its not dead - yet. Yesterday I noticed the breaker plate in the distributor was frozen. I disassembled the dist. to discover that the plastic bearing under the breaker plate had left this world for "plastic paradise" and took one of the bearings with it.
So, I milled a replacement carrier from aluminum, installed 3 new 5.16" bearings and reassembled. The breaker plate now moved freely, but the engine wouldn't start. A quick check revealed no spark. Figured I'd fried the module.
This a.m. on Demer's website http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~j...stributor.html I read that the magnet must be adjusted so the gaps with the reluctor are all equal. Mine weren't; I adjusted them by sight and bingo! She fired right up. After work today I'll readjust with gauges, but for now she runs.
One question, I can't reach 10* BTDC. Its hanging around 8.5* - did they do something to Calif. cars to prevent the additional advance?
Thanks,
John
