Dads 83 280zx turbo 5spd.. i posted about this a long time ago but took a break from it to regroup, car wont idle or run right, only wants to pop back and stumble. I have replaced a bunch of parts but still doing it.

New motor from fresh rebuild
new maf sensor
new injectors
new injector plugs

new wires
new temp sensor in ps of head
new idle sensor (coolant runs through it on top of intake)
New tps sensor

Fuel pressure checked and within limits, shop put a new fuel pump in.

Is your firing order right? Double, triple check. Almost sounds like timing is way off, maybe you switched up your wires somewhere.

^ x2. Sounds like timing is off or spark plug wires out of proper order.

i didnt put the wires on car but i will double check it, if its not that then could the timing between the crank and cam be off by a tooth or two and cause this same symptoms? Again the timing we assumed the shop had done correctly

Could be... I did work on Jaromgi's 280zxt this last summer. Ever since he bought it, it didn't run right. Turns out the cam gear was one tooth off, and the distributor / oil pump shaft also a tooth off. Ran like crap, and got REALLY hot during light driving (glowing turbocharger and 3/4 to maxed out temp gauge). Fixed both problems, runs like a champ and stays cool.

You never mentioned this... and if a shop had worked on it and not fixed it, that's even more reason to CHECK EVERYTHING.
