82 zx air conditioning questions

Next issue I'm having... The old receiver/dryer was gunked up so I bought a new one and ordered a new low pressure switch (two wires stakes). The factory original high pressure relief valve (no wires on it, it has relief holes in the end of it) on the engine side of the old dryer appeared to be installed with some sort of adhesive without an o-ring. I know it has to be installed in the new dryer port, but what is it sealed with. The z-car FSM shows it, but doesn't say anything about how to change it/seal it. It doesn't appear that an o-ring would work because the dryer isn't flared/counter sunk to accept one. Ideas?

Sounds like a gasket or seal is required there. Any chance you could post a good photo or two? You are talking about a condition specific to your Z...

Smile The fix I think...

Tony D. on the Zcar forum said to use Loctite 567 PST on the threads. The high pressure valve (acts like a burst disc on a scuba tank regulator) just screws into the top of the dryer. I'll now go on the search for it...
