Has anyone ever build their own header for your L28 engine? Or does anyone know the specs or of a diagram on how to build some?

 

you may want to read up on header design in general. when building headers they take into account head cc, flow and cam. then size the tube and length to that. plus what collector you use can drasticly effect the performance. its better and cheaper to just buy a pre-made header of good quality. like nismo or stahl. which are both harder to find unfortunatly. you can actually take a great motor and screw up and lose performance by messing with the header. msa sells header but they are just a small step up from the stock manifold

this has brought up a question in my mind now, would exhaust shops be able to build custom headers at nismo, stahl etc hp gains? and rough price range?

rather not spend 1.8 grand on exhaust stuff, shoestring budget.

Shoestring budget equals shoestring car. And only you will be able to answer that question, by going to said exhaust shops and asking.

Or learn how to make them.

 

I hate to beat a dead horse but you can do a turbo swap for under $1000. I've seen complete swaps for $500 and if you do all the work yourself...

That will give you a car with more HP than a modded NA unless you go to an extreme build...
