I have a 1980 280ZX NA with the notoriously bad Auto Climate Control. As I only drive the car in summer, I have just lived with it for the past 20 years, but I am now planning on replacing my dash. (I found one at a wreckers that only had 5000 kms on it in perfect condition. The old guy there said that somebody had wrote off a car the first year they had it and he pulled the dash and stuck it on the shelf. It is like brand new, Score!) Anyway since I am going to have the dash out I want to address the climate control. The Nissan 240SX guys all like to get the JDM S13 Digital Climate Control and install it into their cars, and people sell all the bits and pieces to do it.

It looks like it might fit in the 280ZX dash and would mean I would have to do some work changing out Vacuum actuated parts for electrically operated, but in the long run be a whole lot better.

What are people’s thoughts on this? What problems do you think I may face.
