Size of rims for the 280zx

I've been changing my mind on what rims to get for the 280zx. Being that the wheel body arches on the Z are HUGE, i'm guessing I won't go under 17 inches. However I did have a set of 17's o my honda and they were qiute uncomfortable.

Would 17's be enough to look good on the 280zx? And would they still be the the comfortable level while not damaging the car in any way possible?

i run 17's and they arent too bad as far as ride quality, they allow for less sidewall deflection, while still absorbing pot holes and bad bumps. i run 255/40r17's to get a close ratio to factory size.

Yah, it makes me drool everytime I see that pic. What seats are those, Ice, and are they a tight fit, meaning can you adjust them without having to open the door?

I would just get 16x8 sportmaxx rims if you're looking for an uber cheap wheel with somewhat low offset (0 offset for me isn't that much :P )

What is the backspacing on your wheels?
You run 255 front and back?
I am setting up a car with 245/40/17 and need to order wheels, any help would be helpful.
Thanks,

my wheels are 9.5 inches wide, the same as the wheel width and backspace as ices car has. ive never measured them tell you the truth. go to hybridz and the order info is there, that may tell you quicker than waiting for a response on sizing. and yes all my tires are 255/40. buy me a set like ices car and you can have mine. lol
