Weld up steel plates. Do the floor boards while you're in there.

Just an FYI... you aren't supposed to jack the car from the frame rails.

Hi, NismoPick! Saludos desde Puerto Rico, USA!

I read the Xenon info related with the year of my 280ZX. Steel plates can be welded. Is it possible for you to indicate in a diagram in what specific location you recommend the steel plates be welded? I want to be sure.

It's entirely a custom job that depends on how much you want to repair. You could just weld in 1/8inch plates on the sides and bottom where it bends up to the firewall, if you wanted jack plates. But the floorboards are still weak, so I never jack at the rails. I use a 2x4 piece of wood at the radiator support / tension rod mounts. I place jack stands on the front cross member.

This is the underside of my Z. I did the floorboards but never had enough interest to do the frame rails.
