I dont know if it is worth keeping on with my 280zx. I wanted a project but i think it may be too bad. The frame rails both have a rust hole. Every body panel is shot except for the back quarters suprizingly enough seem ok. everything is rusty. and to top it off i cant find any parts for it. im in central british columbia canada. I have always wanted one of these cars. Are most of them this bad? should i maybe ditch this one and try for something better? They are hard to find around here. What should i do?

Older cars are harder to find in harsh climates like in Canada and Alaska. It might be hard to find body parts for it, but just clean the rust and do fiberglass repairs if thats all you can do. You can always order mechanical parts online or from the USA.

if it is a 2+2 hardtop car, maybe you should get rid of it. Find a 2-seater or a 2-seater with T-tops like Blue here says.
A ZXR! hehe... ya right.

That body shop will tell you it's not worth it but if you can hang some of the parts yourself and let them fix the frame rails it may be OK.
You can get parts in Canada from

Ya, the 2-seater with T-tops should be a keeper. Good luck with your project!
Maybe get a welder and reinforce the main frame rails if you have to.

hey man im in Sask...and i have a 280zx 1981 2 seat soon to be turbo...im doing a conversion....
YES YOU CAN FIND PARTS, epecially for you since you are in BC, im in Sask all they do is farm here theres no market for anything! for me its hard to find, but i found out about online shopping, yes gotta pay shiping....but when you look at it, comes out cheaper then buying it here!
ive had mine for about 4 years now i think, since high school, ive managed to fix all the outside rust and floorboards...my rails still suffer...but i said ill drive it till it all falls apart...then...im gonna find a 240Z, fix ALL the body rust, and put my spankin turbo engine in there. GOOD LUCK to you, see if you can get it fixed, do you have pix of the bottom end?
have fun with it

HOW old are you, can you do MIG welding (real easy if you can save you alotta dough.
