Bump Steer Spacers

I'm not following the need for these. Can someone enlighten me as to the need for them. I have changed the ball joints in my 2+2 and I think I understand the way it ail works but it seems to me that the spacers would negate the drop the springs provide.

They fit between the ball joints and the bottom of the strut assemblies. They maintain correct alignment and geometry on lowered Z cars. They are made with quality aluminum castings, with grade-eight bolts.

just a hint too, if you require them (if your car is lowered) then go to ebay, i think they are cheaper there. the geometry they speak of is mostly for the tie rods, and the lower control arms, keeping these level while at ride height is important to a good handling car.

^ If your car is lowered, they are crucial... They make an amazing difference to the stability of the car. I got mine on EBAY for about 60 bucks.

They should be called roll center adjusters because that is what they primarily do. Any bump steer adjustment is really incidential.

Put it another way, they will raise the roll center no doubt, how they affect bump steer is another question.

Thanks guys, that clears it up. I have enough issues with understeer already so when I get the springs and struts I'll get a set of the spacers too.

I bought cheap spacers off eBay. They worked fine but were a rough cutout. The MSA ones for a few bucks more 'look' far better. Its your call.
