Brake question?//

Is this {REAR ROTOR - Diameter: 10-11/64"} For turbo or non-turbo?? Will it work on a 82 280zx??thx in advance..

I have several rotors around and they all measure 10 33/64" with a hat depth of 2 3/8". The brake calipers and brackets are all the same. The only difference I found is the turbo calipers had plastic guides which crack after the years. The pads and other hardware are the same also. When I went to Napa they had different part numbers for each but I had them all side by side and saw no difference. Maybe the pads are a different material.

Cool thx know where I can get some rear brake calipers for cheap?? My right rear piston blew out and it sounds nasty.

That nasty sound means you need new brake pads and at least one rotor. If the caliper isn't leaking, it's probably okay. Changing these parts is easy. Replacing the wheel cylinder is expensive. Rebuilding it is cheaper but you better know how to do it right.

I took the wheel off and the inside pad is stuck closed {on the rotor} I am redoing the rotors calipers, controlarms, and going urathane on saturday any ways I just needed to make sure I bought the right size rotors.I will post pics when I am finished.

Have you done some reading on installing urathane bushings? They aren't easy. Hybridz has a recent post up on it under the wheels/suspension section. Called Suspension Techniques Bushings don't fit!

Are they anything like the Front?? I was planning on taking them to a machine shop having them pressed out and the new ones pressed in. Since I am doing the bearings to. p.s. buy a carbon hood.

If you're taking it to a machine shop, then I guess that takes the trouble out of it!

So here I am in the middle of things took about an hour by myself, I also broke 4 wrenchs ..I didnt know control arms were gray I also found a brand new set of rear urathane bushings.. {sway bar, and control arm} PM me if you want them 15.00 via paypal and there yours. ps that includes shipping in US 48

Very NICE! I assume you de-greased the control arms before you painted them?!

Don't freshly painted parts look good?

I did my best but even after 1 hour of soaking in degreaser not all of it came off, But it looks alot better and the nu bushings and bearings ride alot smoother.

Yeah I hate it when They look like that but either way you put them it is the wrong direction.. I guess thats why they were 114.00 shipped brand new..

no, they shouldn't be like that. They are directional. I can see in your pic that the slots go opposite directions. If you swap sides with the rotors, the rotor will rotate in the opposite direction. As the curved lines come around, the inside meets the pad first. As it passes through the gas is vented outward.

S.O.A.B . I coulda swor I sawitched them like 5 times before I but them on... ufck, oh well something to do next weekend..
