82 Rear caliper piston

Hi guys, this weekend I set out to change the brakes out on my car. I have a copy of the FSM so I did my homework before I set out to tackle this project. The fronts were easy, my problem was with trying to get the piston in the rear calipers to retract. I turned them clockwise and they didn't budge. I could turn them counter-clockwise and I could see the piston come up. Every time I turned the piston clockwise it would get to the point that it was originally at and stop. Not sure what is going on, but I would like to see what other options I have before I shell out the money for remanufactured calipers.

Pull the piston out and take a look at the screw. It might just be dirty, or maybe someone tried clamping it back in and exploded the screw at the base (common mistake).

Thanks, I will take a look at it when I get a chance. If the screw is damaged would it be best to buy a new caliper?

IIRC, the screw itself is not replaceable. So yes, you'd need another caliper.
