eveyone u must see these seats out of this 84 300zx i just bought.. there awsome ! ill post pictures in a few min.. question is can i take out the z-31 seats and put them in my 82 280zxt ? there really nice seats...

 

Why not? Sounds like an awsome idea to me! I'd definitly love to see if they fit, but i'm sure it's been done.

They WILL NOT bolt directly in. You WILL NEED to MODIFY them.

yeah anything will fit with modifications, i got diahatsu seats in my zx for know, but the z31 seats are badd. There are some blue w/ white middles in the junk yard, very nice...but all greasy.

 

Yeah, as far as modifications, if you put your 280ZX seat rails on the Z31 seats, then the bolt pattern should line up. When you bolt them, do one of the fronts, then one of the rears on the opposite side. You might have to play around with it, but you should be able to get them to bolt in if you have patience.

 

Rears? we don't need no stinkin rears, yeah thats what i did but nothing lined up so the welder made an apperance.

 

After you mount them, you will also realize that they are too wide for the area they occupy. The side bolsters will be crushed by the door... Jus-so-ya-know.

Actually, I've found that some other people have put Z31 seats in their S130's and said they had no problems with the width. I asked them about it because I put Z32 seats in Jade, and the doors shut just fine, but I literally have to open the doors to adjust the seats, cuz I can't get my hands in between the ***** and the door panels. It's a real pita! I wish I'd installed Z31 seats in Jade instead of the Z32 seats. I've found that they're MUCH more comfortable anyway.

PASSENGER SIDE IN !!! minor MODIFY is all i did.. i directly bolted on the 1981 tuebo seats rails to the left side of the 300zx seat but i had to slighty do some measurements 15.5 inches wide to get the holes ot line up right never the less drilled taped and the passenger side is in !!!! FIT IS SNUG !!! I LIKE IT ALOT !!!

Right now im slowly working on the Drivers side... the drivers seat has power options !!! u know power seats... i know the 280zxt has the hook up for the seat belt warning lamp.. but how do yall think i should wire in the power seats?

Just run a new power and ground wires from the fuse box to the seat so it can power the seat.

I have done it !!! passenger seat installed last week ...10-23-2006 today 10-30-2006 installed today.. power seats rock ! seats about one inch higher that stock seats

 

aren't z31 seats made by recaro??? why would anyone want anything else?????
