Rear Speakers

What size are the rear speakers, and how do I get the cover off? I tried to just pop it off, but it didn't want to move so i just left it instead of breaking it. Thanks.

And I should have pics up this weekend.

well i put 6 1/2 " in my car but i dont know if that is factory or not.

i did this about a month ago and i dont really remember how I got them off because I couldn't put them back on with the Kenwood speakers that I have but if im not mistaken there's a place where you just unscrew them and that takes care of the cover as well as the speaker.

In my 2+2 there were no screws in the outter plastic cover. I figured out there are four tabs. These tabs have a little metal clip that binds tight when pulled on. I broke 3 of the four tabs on each cover!
To successfully get them off, I should have unscrewed the side panel and pulled it outward. Then I can get behind the speaker cover and carefully bend the metal tabs and remove them out the back so that the cover will fall off. This will require you to remove the plastic covers around the bottom and back of the door area.

Thanks

Yeah, I was trying to figure out the little tabs that Bleecj mentioned. I have a set of Kenwoods for the back and a set of Bostons for the front (ammazingly enough the speakers form my Storm fit the Z perfectly). So far the Boston (I only have one in since I don't feel like pulling my dash quite yet) sounds pretty good. Now I just have to finish it up, hopefully tomorrow.

About About 9 yrs ago, I made the mistake of installing 6x9's behind the seats and cutting out the metal to make them fit. Now I'm stuck with 6x9 holes.

However.........If you want to re-adapt.........

The speaker mounts in a Nissan truck ('95ish) will fit behind the speaker cut outs. They are made for 4x7's but will trim out for 6" or better. All you have to do is drill out some mounting holes, trim the mounts and you can fit just about any apeaker size you want behind the seats.............as long as you cut out the metal to fit.

Hope this helps.
