I have a 1980 10th anniversary 280zx with 35000 miles that is very dear to me. An accident caused a ladder to fall over onto it, shattering the drivers side rear coupe window. I need to buy a replacement for it, but am unsure if it has the factory tint or not. On eBay i have seen both clear and "factory tint" windows that are supposedly OEM. Any information to help me find out if my window is factory tinted or not would be greatly appreciated, as it is a very special vehicle to me.

Also, this window is the first thing ever that has been replaced on the car besides the tires unfortunately once. Everything else is in pristine condition and hopefully needs to stay that way. No scratched junkyard parts.

AFAIK, there wasn't a factory tint option... only defrost or no defrost:

I have attached a picture of the window I am looking for. After looking on eBay extensively, some of them call for the factory tint, and some do not. Hope the attachment helps.

 

That's quarter glass, not rear glass.

 

do you know if there is a way to tell if the rear quarter glass comes with a factory tint option? cause from looking on ebay there are some that have that in the description and some that do not. and it does look like there is a slight difference in the two.
