Talking Question

Okay guys get out your measuring sticks. Got some questions guys anyone know if they can fit the bottom ground effects from a z31 and attach them to a 280zx. Ground effects meaning the ones that go under the door. Next question the rear tail lamp same z31 but an 87 can it fit onto our rear, and last question I know to many questions can a rear spoiler from a z31 fit the 280zx 2+2 rear.

Gee, for all that work to look like a Z31, you may as well just buy a Z31.

Anything and everything can be made to fit. That's not the question, the real question is how big is your wallet??

Another equally big question... How good are your fabbing skills? I assume these are either urethane or fiberglass parts.... You can make most anything fit IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS.

I've often wondered about the Z31 taillights myself. Though I cant say the ground effects would much be worth it. I'm sure a wing could be made to fit with relatively little work at all just so long as the pedestals fit within the width of the hatch.

Yah true but ill have to see if the measurements are correct to see if they will fit. plus im gonna need to get a turbo hood to play with as well. Okay so lets see an opinion you guys think that it would look okay with the tail light of an 87 z31 ya or nay.

You don't mean a Z31 turbo hood do you? Z31 hood = opens backwards

The rear spoiler might look good but the Z31 rear deck design is different. The end of the deck has a small 'level' section where the 280ZX deck slopes straight untill the very edge.
The Z31 'turbo' spoiler is countoured to fit the hatch and level section at the end. it wouldn't set right on a 280.

Also, the 87-89 body is slightly wider than the earler version. I think its only about an inch or so but even at that I would bet there will be minor fitment issues putting it on a 280ZX.

That car pictured is my parts car. One of the tail light lenses is cracked (left side) but if you're looking for a cheap rear light section I can sell you that. I might even be able to cut the whole rear metal part out since this car is going to the crusher eventually. PM me...

I actually like those tail lights a lot better than the 280ZX or early Z31 lights. I've heard mixed opinions from Z enthusiasts. I have seen those grafted into a 240Z rear deck and I really liked the look.
