need help push button starter
I did this when I first bought my Z because the ignition switch was worn and didn't always crank the car. I bought a push button from Summit racing for way cheaper than what some of the import stores are selling it for. The button came with directions, if I remember correctly, (this was about 2 and a half years ago) one wire to constant power, one to the starter and one for ground I think although I think it was only two wires I had to hook up. It's been too long and I don't have access to my car at the moment. It's 5000 miles away from me. I won't see it for another month and a half, but if you still need help then, let me know.

I did it to a '79 i had. The key was broken off in the "on" position so i just kept it there to keep the sterring lock off and disconnected the ignition switch wires.
I got 2 switches and a pushbutton from radio shack (i tried to get the highest amperage rating they had but i had some doubts about them. you can get better ones at napa and such).
it took me a while to figure out which wire(s) were for what (ie - accessory, on, start), but i had it so one switch was the equivalent of turning the key to the "acc." position, the second switch would be the "on" position (had some weird effects if you turned the first one off and then this on on), and finally the pushbutton would start the car.
well, i think the total running time of that z was 15 seconds before the fuel filter got clogged and i had to drop the tank and get it cleaned... but that's another story.
well, if you are the do-it-yourself-er like me then you can get illuminated switches and buttons (and add a hidden switch to deter theft) and make it all to your liking. I've heard of a few kits that you can get also though.
