Headlight Covers

Im was wondering where do you buy those clear headlight covers, and will they work on all 280zx's?

and yes, they fit all 280zx's.

I've never used the ones from BlackDragon though so I cant attest to their quality. The ones from MSA are great though.

funny you bring that up cause my long missing headlight covers suddenly reappeared today. They were waiting on my porch for me when I got home from work. I mailed these things off back in VA to a fellow member here and somehow they found me out here in SD. They're all scratched up and the hardware is all MIA and the box was demolished. They sure do look like **** but they would make good candidates for molds.......something to think about I guess

I bought all of mine from Motorsport Auto. Be very careful when you install them, cuz once you drill the holes, they're there.

Oh, one other thing ... I've had both the clear and smoked headlight covers, and although the smoked ones look much nicer on Jade, they really hinder visibility during night driving.

yeah I mounted mine up with the sticky tape first and then tightened everything down to verify that it all lined up. Then I drilled the holes with the tabs mounted via the tape. They fit like a glove. The rubber seals were annoying as hell though cause they didnt want to stay in place during the mounting procedure.

A hair dryer set on high heat will take care of that. It should soften them up enough to let them mold to the shape properly.

Haha, the night before a NOPI show, everyone was out in the parking lot of the hotel getting drunk while I was drilling holes in my headlight buckets to install my covers, without a mounting plate, using a flashlight as my only means of seeing what I was doing. One of the holes was slightly off.

Whats funny about that is that I left one of the covers out on my hood with the weatherstrip on it for a few hours during the afternoon. I got one mounted up and decided to take a break before tackling that one. Well as it would turn out that one gave me far less problems then the first one Up until I took them off the car the last time to ship them out the weatherstrip still would not hold onto that first one.
