Dash caps

Just a question. I need to repair, replace, cover my dash, as it is cracked. Surprise! Any comments on how to go about this, as I have looked for a replacement one, but nothing is any better than what I have. And what about a dash cap? Would it look ok or just be a poor replacement? Thanks

the hard plastic dash covers are a good fix. I've got one on my car.

If you prep the dash good enough before you apply the dash cap, and mount it correctly, it's pretty hard to tell it's even there. They look pretty good when done correctly. If you saw one that was melted, it was probably because somebody just laid it in place and didn't adhere it to the dash properly... which would give it room to expand and contract under extreme temperature changes...
