civic crx si seat install write up

Hello,

Just bought a pair of crx si seats and I remember a write up somewhere on how to install them but I cannot remember where or who. This is for a 280ZX.
Please help.

Bleach did it... and several others too. If our search allowed 3 letter words, searching for CRX would find it... but it doesn't. Maybe he's got something on his webpage? http://www.bleachgarage.com/

Thanks for the quick reply, but no, bleach seems to be reinventing his website and there is nothing about the seat install on there, if you can think of anyone else, I would appreciate it.

I prefer Z33 cloth seats. those are the best!

Also, on my website; for now the only updates I do are pictures of events I attend. But they are good pictures!

You wouldn't say that if you sat in my old 280ZX seats.

Finally, finished my seats. Man! what a difference, the seats hug you as your driving around curves and has good support for the lower back. I'll post pictures soon. Thanks guys, and thanks Bleach for the write up; It was fairly easy to do and the holes lined up well.

++ for bleach I finally got around to installing one of my CRX seats too.

Unfortunately my install didn't go quite so smooth. Not sure exactly what went wrong, but the rails seem to sit with more distance between one another on the CRX seats, by about a quarter to a half inch

After I got the tranny-tunnel side bolted down on the drivers seat rail, I found that the door-side holes were not going to line up. I used a rope and pulley to put the rear door-side mount into submission. It was my hope that a day or so driving would "naturally" pull the front into submission too, but appears not.

However... that missing bolt on the front drivers side makes for a VERY comfortable ummm "springback" effect. It has just a little bit of a recliner's characteristics when you first flop down in the seat haha.

Yea... I need to fix that before I need all 4 bolts in a hard stop.

Btw Vern, how do you like your quarterwindow louvers? Do they effect visibility much? Help with sun any on the hot days?

Hello rxKaffee,
I like the quarterwindow louvers, but they do affect visibility. I just set my side mirrors up to see into the blind spot so it compensates somewhat. They do help on keeping heat out of your Z though, with the louvers and a windshield shade, even with the windows up it makes a difference.
