Brand New Owner need some help
So i just bought a 1979 280zx 2+2
and the only problems i've found so far are pretty cosmetic.
I've got some rusted through spots on the body...any suggestions on the best way to fix those? Should i attempt it myself or would i be better taking it in to a professional?
This is my first Z car i've owned...and i really don't know much about them but i figure this would be as good a place as any to learn.

First, welcome to Z Drivers!
I would say that if you've done some body work previously, go for it and save a few bucks; however, personally I would have a professional do the work for me. But that depends on the extend of the damage of the body and how 'handy' you are with that kind of repairs.
I would suggest you get your hands on a NISSAN 280ZX Haynes book; you can find them on eBay for about $10.00.

I had a friend talk to body repair shops about the work they do. Basically he told me to just do it myself since the amount of effort and quality they put into it is minimal and I can do the same repair work for less.... unless of course, I'm spending absolute top dollar for the repairs which would basically total the car.
Fiberglass, bondo, spray can etching primer... that's all the shops will use. Nobody welds in sheetmetal anymore except for $75/hour labor
