Everyone will hate me now, changed my mind on v8 swap, 5.3vortec_T56
Please read and correct me if I'm wrong, if you have experience working with chevy LS1 or 5.3 vortec engines or T56 transmissions, I would love any info or help you could provide.
So I changed my mind again. I was deadset on doing vh45 or vk56 swap into my 75 280z, but after having many financial changes happen, the best way to go to have a ton of power and not lose all my money or spare time is doing a 5.3 Vortec engine and a T56 6spd.
Reasons:
T56 - basically is the best manual trans for lowest cost to use for high power.
5.3 Vortec - similar power to LS1, much cheaper to get and easier to find, fits with thezstore sbc v8 adapters, and t56 bolts up....whether or not shaft/flywheel dimensions are the same is a whole other story, and finally the T56 came with LS1 style engines later on - so the harness on the LS engine is very similar to vortec engine harness and it will include items related to manual trans. Just need to change some connectors and should be able to reprogram whatever PCM would work the best (prolly the LS one)
Like i said above, please feel free to add any helpful info for this. I havent searched on here yet for anyone else that has done it, but I just wanted to put this up here with the plan of doing a build thread.

Now that you have decided on a SBC (Small Block Chevy) you might want to check out the HybridZ web site. I am pretty sure you will find answers to your questions over there. HybridZ
