Z down, "the great fire"

So as you all know, I have been building a turbo S30. Did quite a lot of work on it. Well, I have been trying to start it lately to no avail, been having issues with no spark and no injector pulse for some reason, initially it was firing but was severely out of time, I re-did the timing chain and oil pump to be sure, that was when I lost spark and fuel. Checked all wiring, it seemed fine, so I was leading to believe the ECU or CAS went caput! well, just yesterday when the battery was charging, for some reason a massive short happened after re-installing the dashboard.... here is what is left

*note, the ceiling in the garage is supposed to be pure white

windshield melted away, dash melted away, almost all the wiring harness (body only engine compartment was fine) is melted away, passenger quarter shattered, drivers side window melted, lots of ruined paint.

at this point, I don't know what to even do.... at a loss for words and kind of at a loss for work, it sucks to see so many personal hours go up in a blaze...

dude, that sucks big time. cant imagine what was going thru your head. was the battery connected? the only way to stop the fire at first would have been disconect the battery to remove voltage then control the fire part. i know where to get good quarter windows here where i am at cheapish prices.

luckily I think I have spare quarter windows and a spare drivers side window... its that harness that IDK what I'm going to do with....

thanks TOF. if you want it gone I may be able to work something out. I'll let you know. any wiring issues? lol, and pics would be cool, PM me any pics you have

and as for what was going through my head was interesting, I was actually showering, and the battery has a quick disconnect at the terminal, its a twist ****. guess it wasn't in the OFF position, I was showering and heard a faint beeping, though it was the TV. walk out of the shower and I'm like man, something smells like electrical fire, I dry quickly, through close on and open my bedroom door to my house filled with thick smoke, I thought an outlet caught and the house was burniing down, I run out to the garage to find my dad standing of the car with a hose. he was in the kitchen looking up how to test the CAS to see if it's bad while the battery was charging. I actually hadn't touched the car in a week thanks to getting severely sick. I'm having a blast of a week. but the general thought in my head was " OH SHIIIT OH SHIIIT OH SHIIIT WTF IS HAPPENING!" lol...

Just MS it with their harness, as far as the body harness and the dash harness there is a person selling a few on zcar i believe.

I would love to get ahold of a 240z shell.

Snw, if this isn't a sign for you, buy/make a new wiring harness. The wiring even when new sucked donky ***** and was/is a fire waiting to happen.

eh... it's just a body harness. lol. We will see. I just don't have the patience of time right now to do a painless or similar. but if another issue pops up that may be the route. we will see.

Were driving up now instead of flying. Let me know and I'll strap it to the car...somewhere!

yeah, did you see my other thread that coincided with my last post that said "UPDATE" I got it mostly straightened back out and running. but now I pulled it half back apart because I need to check and make sure my wastegate spring is the right one, replace the BOV spring and rebuild the turbo.
