sigh..... $10k loan at 19 to restore a car??? no wonder the economy is in the crapper. spending money you don't have is the fastest way to set yourself up for failure. only loan i have ever taken is for my home, and i will make money off of that.

snw, think your 260 will make it to VA? you said it wasn't reliable, but it sounds rite sweet(i don't care about cosmetics much, as you can tell) and that's really doing something if ou are planning on making 7k off of that 280. restos usually loose money. and by the way, my story is scarily similar to yours. i had a honduh instead of the camery, and didn't wreck it, but traded it for my midget that had been sitting for 12 years. terrible idea. and then i did't get caught street racing and now i have the Z32. other then that, very similar.

you have another car. a better one. just let it go. i have a 260Z that i hand converted to a turbo swap car. you wanna talk about hard to let go?!?!?! and if it was painted like i want it could go for a REALLY good price. instead its winter so no one is in the market, im poor and i gotta get rid of it for 3k. its in better shape than your car! and turbo! and im almost going to get the same amount you paid for it! i think if i found a few clips i needed, and cleaned up the connector one last time and for good luck. it would make it there as long as you didnt beat on it all the way. lol. i mean i have driven it maybe 2k since i got it running right and the only problem it has had was needing the connections cleaned, so if the buyer had a pin to re-bend the connections some electric cleaner spray (all for just incase) it could make it accross the country im sure. its not that it breaks, and un-realiable is not even fit for it. more like, its sensative right now. but i got it all running and even after it sat in the deep freeze we had here it still started right up. lost its charge once but that was from the cold and lack of driving thanks also to the cold.

resto's if done with thought will always make money. and dont sell a non running car. get the carb's fixed or buy ones already known to run and then sell the car.

dude i hate to say it, but i strait up disagree. i work in a british car resto shop. he does cars that total a bill of 70k+! granted, labor is a lot, but then that car is only worth 25-30k when re sold. even if it's not done at a shop, i think restos usually loose money. honestly, what you're doing isn't a full resto. it's a big reconditioning or partial resto. frame offs loose money. when a car gets a frame off with a new engine and everything, you can't get as much out of it as you put in. you do a cheap resto to make money. this is in no way a bash or anything. it's just that full restos really do loose money. if you get a car that's already a good mechanical base and do a cosmetic restoration, then you can make money, because cosmetics seem to be worth so much on old cars.

its for sale right now. i can get some updated interior pics and a video up for you. and thats british cars and in a shop. im doing this myself. so i source my own parts, do ALL my own labor. there for it renders money. if i paid a shop to do what ive done so far and plan on doing in the next few weeks i woulda spent prolly near 5k without the car purchase.

yea i know. i did say "even if it's not in a shop". i still stand by: full restos loose money/partial restos or cosmetic freshening makes money. yea put up some pics. i can't watch a video though. but i can't get my 300 sold for a week or 2 if i do really decide to jump on this, so i doubt i could. i thought you were going to put it up for sale in a bit. after you got the 5 speed in it

if it goes for 3k ill just get the tranny and send it with or install it for the buyer for the price of the tranny itself. lol. its for sale and has been for a while, i just stopped pushing sales since winter time. you can get the vid to work, its not steaming it buffers, so you can click the vid hit play once it reads buffer hit pause and let it load. only reason i dont have the tranny now is cause my job hasnt paid me, and also, i kinda am commited to buying a flywheel as well. lol. plus getting the tranny is one hell of a drive. prolly 4-5 hours one way.

p.s. do you go to school? use a school computer they all have high speed connections.

shocks are getting soft. u joints perfect no knocking no rusting. sam with all the shafts and rotating parts. and no japanese car had a solid axle as far as i know. they are half shafts. tires have tread but are aging so are starting to develop some dry rot, at least i have a suspicion. honestly there is nothing wrong with the car. just needs love. some body seals cause it still has a small leak somewhere on the drivers side. needs paint, well should get paint doesnt need it persay. shocks should be replaced soon cause they are getting soft. thats it. i have a moustache bar for the bigger R200 rear diff i can include with it and a perfect condition rear hatch glass with trim all pristine. i got alot of parts, i even have a R200 rear diff i can send with it probably. lol. and i can send the extra Z shock tower so you can use the stub axles and the half shafts for the complete rear diff swap. ****, i should do it myself, but im lazy. lol. i have lots and lots of parts the buyer could choose from.

dude, there's something with fords. i let my first car go into the rear of a ranger, and i hit a bronco with the Z32. but just barely, only left a small gowge in the front bumper that i fixed asap looked good as new.
