what should i offer on this 240Z?

i found a 240z sitting outside a house and has not moved since i spotted it. it has rust on the back hatch, rocker panels and in the wheel wells. (located in florida) both the front fenders and the left door would have to be replaced. i knocked on the door and the lady who answered said it was her moms and it has been sitting there for a few years after it got hit while her mom was driving it. she said her mom would most likely sell it but wasn't sure. i didn't get a chance to look under the hood or open the doors to look inside a little better. i plan on going back soon to get pictures and to get a closer look. so from what i have provided what do you think i should offer on this Z?

i forgot to mention that this would be my first car.

Welcome to ZDriver!

I'm assuming you have lots of $$$ and time to spend on the car? Or are you just looking for a hoopty car to get from point A to point B? Because a 240Z resto project that requires a lot of rust repair will get you to a $10k bill really quick.

A picture is worth a thousand words... it would definitely help to see the car's condition inside & out. If it's been sitting for more than a few years, it's going to need a gas tank flush and clean / rebuild / tune the carbs... this car probably isn't going to be an instant "buy and drive".

Having said all that, it could be worth $100, or $5000 ... pics will be helpful.

my budget is kinda tight right now but i would have a year to work on it before i put it on the road. i am about to start a welding certification class. i was hoping that would help with the rust repair cost. i would like to make it a running project, then eventually restore it in a few years. my neighbor has a lot of experience with old car repairs and he said he would help me fix it up. ill try to get those photos soon
