OK....I have a 1982 280zx Turbo, on the left side of the motor is the turbo, on the other side is something that looks like a turbo, but it has an electric motor attached to it (or something that looks like a motor) and it appears to be attached to the intake...what is it???

 

sounds like the little engine cooling device, after you turn off your car, it should turn on. It's a fan pretty much. After you drive your car, just pop the hood and wait for it to turn on. You can feel air coming out of the end of the two black outlets.

hahah yeah a 280ZX-TT hahahah I wish!

 

does it have a purpose other than that? I live in Idaho and the temps here only hit 90 for about 2 weeks. I removed that little thing cause it took up space and I could see no practical purpose for it. Now if it could heat my motor in the winter when i have snow that would be cool.
