Ok, if i bought the intake,turbo manifold etc from a 280zx turbo would i be able to run on pump gas if i didn't change the pistons from my n/a engine?

 

The difference is not the block, the difference is the heads. You could leave the stock bottom end, you would need to change the head. The head will have to go to a P90. That is the turbo head. I hope that this helps.

 

no, the pistons are flat tops (not dished like the turbo ones) so they have higher compression.
I want to know if i can run pump gas with a turboed flat topped piston engine, or if the compression if too high.

 

yea ya can even though most people think you should get a turbo head for the 7.3-1 comp ratio stay with your setup with 8.3-1 it will give the better drvieabilaty and better spool up. back to the gas you can run pump gas but dont run less than the mid-grade and if you do run mid if the car starts to knock go up to the good stuff and put an octane booster to the mid tank so you dont burn holes in your pistions
