Starter wiring?
okay, heres the deal. After a drive, i found my fuseable link smoldering that was connected to the solenoid. I turned off the car and then...won't start! So i was thinking that it may just be the link itself being old, but no. I replaced it and it still won't start. When i turn the key, I hear the "click" from the electricity(i think), but no cranking. My battery is definately alive and well seeing as it was recently replaced and all the electronics in the car still work. Any ideas? Thanks for all the help.
Re: Starter wiring?
Ya, with your key in the "on" position, run a small wire from the positive on the battery and touch the little wire tab on the back/top side of the starter solinoid. The engine should start cranking right then. If the solinoid pops out each time, but doesn't crank then your starter itself is fried.

so. I ran a wire to the solenoid with the key in the on position...nothing happened. I don't think the solenoid even popped. I tried tapping it with a hammer...nothing. I definately have current going all the way to it...but no luck. I guess its the solenoid? Any other things I should try before replacing/fixing it?
