there is a kit, but it's not a complete set - you still have to provide your own calipers from a 240sx:

the kit will work great, but you need aftermarket wheels with enough clearance to clear caliper and bracket (offsetwise). the alternate, of course, is 280zx calipers and maxima brackets

engine builder in LA? dunno about that one, but there's one in SF bay area, about 400 miles north of LA. And everyone knows Rebello Racing, with typical setup being 2.8 stroked to 3.1 making about 250hp/250tq:

rust, rust, and rust. that's your main concern. check under battery tray, floorpans, behind the seats and subframes, frame rails, crossmember, rear hatch area. check frame rails and xmember for bends that look like they could've been caused by an impact. Bring an bondo detector (ie. refrigirator magnet) to see where it won't stick to metal because of bondo. expect worn cracked dry bushings, blown struts, etc., so be prepared to spend money on those
