Some Pics / Vids of my race weekend.

Just got back from GMP sunday night. The Z did me really well for my first race weekend. Got the thing setup NICELY, you'll see me catch the others in the corners and twisties.. Oh.. and I'm on street tires I'll be on R's next week and should be able to Roll right past them.

I need to scrounge up an extra 5 - 7 hp. Any tricks?

Here is race 6 of 6 of the weekend.
http://racing-canada.com/vids/sunday.wmv (small 45mb)
http://racing-canada.com/vids/sunday_large.wmv (large 200mb)

I defentally need to add some ducting for the brakes, I destroyed a set of pads saturday alone. Sunday's brand held up much much better with little fade, I'll be stocking up on PBR's.

Some nice photos here

Right on!

Great job, and great pics !!!

clearly, you were the only first gen. Z there?

on the 5-7 hp..what are you using for air filters and or housing, Impulse?

I have found huge gains here while drag racing. where horsepower is king.

Yeah, defentally can use more power in the straights. I don't plan to change a thing on the suspension, considering I catch right up in the corners (on street tires) everyone else is on R's. That'll gain me a few seconds easily. Now this video is the last of the races for the weekends, so I'm gridded / qualified closer to the front. Right with the guys I'm having trouble catching. Now if I can muster up another 10 hp or so to keep up with the green guy in the straights I'll be happy.

I have the 2.8 block and head, and basic dome-top Su's. As far as intake goes, just a single surround k&n filter over the two of them.

Someone suggested I go alittle more hard-core on the heat-shielding, and I'm really thinking some timing might help out alittle. But what are the 'little tricks' I can through at this car for just the few extra more?

And turboboost, I'm from Regina, Sk. But will be spending alot of the summer out at gimli on the race-weekends, you should make the drive out next time.

Impulse.......check the z car drivers on Improvedtouring.com forums for tech on racing your Z.

They've know what it takes to put down big power from an engine that specs as stock per Improved touring rules.
