Slaw starting
I have a 1983 280ZX 2+2. Within the last two weeks my car seems to take longer to start. It use to take about two cranks and it would start but now 7 to 9 cranks. Still has smooth idle. I have new plugs, rotor, wires and cap. Starter has been replaced and battery checks good. It does not seem to be temp related. Any ideas?

Re: Slaw starting
My 280zx has done this for the entire 6 years that I've been driving it every day to work. I just put up with it. I think maybe there is a broken wire going to the cold start injector. I tested and replaced the bad injector that was on there, but the thing never seems to fire still. Maybe a button would be better to activate the injector. It would be like primering a lawnmower before you start it! hehe...
If you have any air leaks from the Air Flow Meter back, then your mixture is that much more lean. That hurts cold starting a lot. Once the engine is warmed up that lean mixture won't have as much effect on performance.
