Ran my 240Z at the track for the first time!
So...long time no post. Been busy with work, but finally got a chance to take the Z out to the track. It was an impromptu race, we were down for the national motorcycle drags (so very sick) and my friend knew the owner of the track and let us do a few passes after the event was over. I ran right around 15.6 seconds on the 1/4 mile, not too bad for my first time, if I do say so myself.
For whatever reason, the Z would not really pull over 5k rpms, just seemed to fall flat on its face. But still, not too bad for a new motor that desperately needs to be tuned.

I think the 280ZX turbo was 15.2 stock. and it was supposivly fast for its day.

On a side note...I just got a R200 4.11 gearset from a friend...

Thats not bad at all. I remember my 260z ran a 16.1 with a ported head and an untuned 4 barrell and slipping clutch. I had like a 3 second 60' haha.

I ran my '71 (2.8, SU's and header) at the track with a best of 14.9. I was getting a missfire over 7000 rpms though. I think it was suffering from "point bounce". Hopefully this has been cured by swapping in an '80 (ZX) electronic distributor.
