Why does NOS burn up your motor? It has almost the same effect as a turbo.
Both pump in more fuel. That is what makes additional horsepower. The NOS is just a high-oxygen rich gas, and the turbo pumps in compressed air which basically gets more oxygen in there. Then all the fuel can burn.
Seems like a 250hp L28 turbo would "burn up" just as fast as 100 shot of nos on a 150hp L28 n/a.

No, the N/A pistons have shallow ring lands unlike the turbo pistons so the ring lands are not as tolerable as turbo pistons to heat or detonation. more power will increase the heat along with the HP.
By the way, you can change the plugs to keep the car from pinging.
