Picture shoot!!! 120 pics so 56k beware

well, we went to these 2 places we found and thought would be great places for pics, thanks to uneven lighting for the outside pics, only a handful of those came out good, the inside pics all cam out pretty neat. im with a mazda speed protege he also has a galant VR4 he is building (motors main bearing exploded so he is building it for performance) and the honda im with is that kids only car and DD but it looks clean, shoulda had him get his dads mercades cl500 or is it sl.... no no i think cl... lol. anyways here is the entire shoot that i though was decent enough to post i ended up deleting about 20 other ones, using a 10megapixel camera i thought these would come out alot better, looks like i gotta learn about camera settings and lighting effects. well enjoy!

ps. it took me 3 hours to upload these to photobucket and 40 minutes to copy and paste all the links here... so you will look at EVERY LAT ONE OF THEM!!!! lol, jk.... but seriously...

Dude... you really need to learn how to use a digi cam. For night pics you need to adjust your ISO / Exposure. Also use a tri-pod.

Hey dork face... it would be a lot easier to just post a link to your photo album.

All I can say Snw is that your car is about 1000X cooler and better looking than those two other things, whatever they are....

hahha.... well thakns so far i guess, at leat to mike. and nismo, thanks for the ISO tip now! i was wondering wtf that was for... but its on auto and i cant access it, its a non selectable feature, however just now looking at the camera i found preset qualities one of them being night portrait.... (like a skyline view) exactly what i woulda needed.... SHITTY!!! lol. as for the tripod, i used the ground and other at level objects as well as the camera has digital stabilization, so its no big.... but still... DAHH. ill probably go out and do this again for a few nice ones... but new spots... i want to find someplace uber sweet. id have to say only 1/3 of these photos are nice... and woulda been 100000 times more higher quality if i did find the night scene NOW....

if your shutter button is threaded, a cable release helps keep night shots stable.

First off you need more light to shoot freehanded. Secondly you need more light for that camera setting. Thirdly you need more light.

A $10 tripod and the camera remote or a 2 second timer delay will keep the motion blur from ruining your pics. You can't shoot freehand unless you use the flash or shoot in high-noon daylight.
Many of the affordable digital cameras have very poor light sensitivity. This is rapidly imporving, but still... you need more light for that one.

its not motion blur, it has built in stabalization, its poor lighting settings. thats it, causes the focus to loose effectiveness.

There are several obvious examples of motion blur. You don't have focus problems.. that is motion blur.

If you want to shoot with that camera under those conditions you need a tripod and use the time delay. Time delay will allow you to press the button and remove your shaky hands before it shoots the picture. Set it as low as it will go. Usually one or two seconds.

Here is the breakdown on your SHAKE problem.

Picture number 15 of the EXIT door sign is the most blatant example of SHAKE in the whole series. It is nearly a double exposure due to the fact that you nearly held it still in 2 different places with a quick SWOOOSH between them.

I can tell you how the shake affected each and every piture.

1. vertical shake
2. horizontal shake
3. decent but grainy due to CCD image noise
4. horizontal with a little swirl
5. vertical
6. horizontal
7. vertical
8. horizontal
9. swirl
10. vertical

That is just the first post... Dont' sit there and deny the obvious. LEARN...

It will also benefit you to keep the light sources OUT of the framed shot. Make absolutely SURE the lens is PREFECTLY CLEAN. These steps will ensure the widest possible dynamic range(contrast) in the image. Keeping the lense clean for night shots is IMPERATIVE. Light that scatters on the lens surface may not show up in the picture but it can throw off the auto white balance as the computer tries to decide the exposure settings. The bright lights in the framed picture also skew the computer's decisions.

Once you get good in AUTO mode then you can try some interesting settings for specialty shots.

You can use that camera to get decent shots in those conditions. The AUTO setting may pop the flash if you manage to get good dynamic range in your shots. Turn the flash OFF. Do not just cover the flash because it has been figured into the computer's decisions. Turn it OFF.

other things that may make your pictures more interesting is trying to manipulate depth of focus. In general if you back away and use the optical(not digital) zoom to frame your shot you will get more of the image IN FOCUS. This can give pictures a "flat" look if you are not careful with choosing background textures on your "set".
If you want to get a deeper "feel" to the picture then get up close and zoom all the way out(look for the little flower symbol for near shots). This can distort the shape of things at the edges if it is used with straight line visual cues near the edges of the picture.

Hmm, I like the Protoge(sp) It looks nice. Your Z looks sweet, although, idk what to think about the can on the back. Are you going to get the front bumper holes filled and rechromed?

the can, w/e it was the best i could do for a 3 inch exhaust, so shoot me. not very many non canister mufflers out there that have a 3 inch in. so, yeah. plus its a very very high quality one that i got for 50 bucks cause a shop here took it off there race car to run straight up front dump pipes. also, bjhines, im not denying, im telling you what its mostly from, seriously, your acting like a know it all smartass. i appreciate suggestions and help, but your taking it to far. your not god. some of those were used with a tripod, can u figure out which ones? no, thats why im saying its almost all from my camera settings and lighting not matching. i played with it when i got home and got perfect low light pics, i just didnt post them up because they were of objects other than my or my friends cars. but seriously, tips hints some FRIENDLY criticism is awsome i appreciate it, but just dont refuse to believe what the person that actually took the pictures is saying. cause you werent there. other than the part where you acted like an *** though, thanks, i do appreciate it.

haha, they were good opportunities, but im ashamed of them, sorta. more like, im uber pissed we spent hours having awsome fun and taking pics before winter and then they turn out shitty cause instead of learning the features of the camera 10 megapixel btw lol, i just went out left everything on auto and went at it. shoulda set the night features up.... sigh! well next years will be better cause now i have 2 Z's going to paint both of them the guy with the mazda speed should have his galant VR-4's motor rebuilt so that thing will be hauling *** and we can get some pics then.
