you shaved the rear bumper? dont get rear ended. also, WHY DIDNT YOU GET THE XENON AIRDAM PAINTED!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

 

I just assumed they would paint it. Anyway, I talked to them about it and they said I could bring it in anytime and they would paint it. The rear end was already like that when I bought the car.

 

thats right i remember that now, but the bondo was falling out did they fix that? and def get that airdam painted

Red too. Makes me think of what my car would look like if it was in good shape.

 

Wow Mike....what a transition your Z took. Very sweet ride man. And I do love those wheels. Oh...and the shaved rear bumper looks tight too. I would do that to my S30..whenever I get one. All in all....the Z looks beautiful. And I think you should refrain from fender flaring it. I think your Z looks perfect the way it is now. Just my opinion though.

WildmaN, I agree with your opinion on the body. Aside from getting the airdam painted and installing the cf bumpers, I'm pretty satisfied with the way the car looks. I don't want it to start to look too "busy" with all kinds of add-ons. Now I'm going to concentrate on the interior and performance mods....maybe even a swap sometime in the future.

 

Was the engine out of the car for paint? Or did they mask all of that off?

 

I don't believe the engine was ever removed. I think it was all masked off.

haha....I don't know, between the 240 and the bike, there is already alot of red in the garage.

 

No prob Mike. Glad you share my opinion on the body. Your Z is a nice looking classic car. And you have taken care of it. Props to you for that. Definately the interior would be a good thing to tackle. And hey..if you need some insight or tips on that. Go ahead and ask me away. I have done some things with my interior in my Z. And I am not finished yet. lol Anyway keep up the good work. And keep us updated.

 

I'll give props when they are due. You earned it. I really want to get my car into shape, but until then I will live my life through you guys working on your Z's.

BTW snw, I took the air dam off last night and took it to the body shop to get painted. He says they'll do it first thing Monday so I'll have it back soon.
Good thing, because the Z looks kinda funny without it....kinda like she's missing her lower dentures lol.

 

lol very nice. also, did you ever get that shifter bushing fixed? cause your shifter had ALOT of freaking play in it when i was over

 

No Thats something that still need worked on. I'm afraid otherwise one day the shifter is gonna come off in my hand!

 

Thanks WildmaN! I might be asking you for some tips on the interior. The first things I need to replace are the panels on the door. Also I just ordered some weatherstripping for around the doors. I'm also considering buying new seats. This could be fun... I'll keep you posted.

 

me n my dad re-upholstered the seats our selves even cut new foam for them. its easy you can get the whole seat coverings from MSA like new fit GREAT! and replace the old worn ones and MSA has some good deals on interior stuff right now so i would hit it up fast

Well, got the front air dam painted. Still need to get the cf front bumper installed.

 

damn the CF bumper will complete it. you remember what i said right? about the brackets and just getting matching bolts? should go on in 10 mins if that. also idk if the paitn shop gave you the run down about washing it but keep salt off of it for sure! and it takes like 6 months for it to all fully cure so only hand wash with soft soaps all hand hand hand! no abrasives

 

Thanks for the advise snw, because the body shop didn't mention any of that. Rest assured, she won't see any snow or ice (she's just sitting on ice in the pic because I had to get pics for the insurance company)....
