no power past 65
driving on the freeway at around 75 and cars running perfectly, then all of a sudden the car started losing power and wouldn't go past 65.
I took it out of gear and the engine would rev fine, but once it was back in gear it wouldnt go past 65.. the more gas i would give it, the louder it got, (I noticed that the sound seemed more muffled as well) but it wouldn't change speed at all.
I even shut off the engine but that didnt change anything, either.
When off of the freeway the car ran perfectly (even ran through the gears and the car pulled fine) but when get it upto 65ish the car won't go any more, whether in 3rd of 4th gear.... im lost, any ideas?

Do you have a CAT / It could be clogged which will cause these kind of problems. Can you rev the motor to like 5600 rpm ? Try doing this standing still then run your gears like that. Race the motor hard. If you cant I would think CAT. If you dont have a cat then ????????????
Good Luck

i would check fuel pump first, is it electric? or manual (the manual ones get old and 'slip' at high revs, which would explain your problem).
if it is electric you may be able to 'tune' it up, by changing the flow characteristics, the edlebrock blue pump has a remote dial you can increase the psi from 5-7psi (i think).
But yes, it sounds like your leaning out when your engine is underload.
