Newbie - I just got a 260 and 280 with lots of performance parts - Suggestions?
Here is what I got:
1974 260Z: (The Body of this car is pretty rough but it runs
the way it sits)
Racing Clutch
Triple Webber Carbs
New suspension (lowered with struts/shocks)
4 spoke alloy wheels
1978 280z (Great Body no Motor or Trans)
Alloy Honeycomb type wheels
Extra Engine (in pieces but ready to be put back together)
New in box Oversized pistons (not sure of the compression ratio)
New Cam (not sure of grind)
New headers
A friend of dads son got in some legal trouble and these where his cars. He was in the middle of swapping everything from the 260 to the 280 but he got in some trouble so his dad is selling the cars to help get him out.
His dad wasn't sure what all was done but he said he had to pay off a $7000 credit card bill (that's not the legal trouble) He said that the 7G was in the car and beer.
The kid didn't know a whole lot about what he was doing (I knew Him) But his friend that was helping was really good. So I think it was one bought everything thing while the other did the work.
I have been into the 4 banger sport compact scene for a while but haven't really messed much with older 6s I really think I will be fun.
I also know where there is a mid/early 80s 300zx turbo that is complete minus wheels in a U-pull yard that I could get parts off of real cheap. Is there any parts off of it that I should look into getting.
I would like any suggestions that you can give about things to do while the car is apart, plus where to get more info on these cars, and where should I look for parts. Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
