here is the deal. I have a 78 280 that I got in acceptable condition and fixed the major problems. I thought about a skyline motor but decided against it because of the cost associated with the life of the car. then came the idea to build the stock engine and posssibly a turbo but I didn't want to spend that much money for that little of a power gain. I then came to the brilliant idea, with the help of my friend, to do a v8 swap. and of course being a chevy man I installed a 350 with the assistance of parts and wiring info from jtr.com. it was a low budjet build, only about $1700 into the entire engine and it is brand new. I took it to the local track and ran a 13.9 at 99mph with spinning tire and a verry sloppy shift into 2nd gear. now for the tragic part, I was hauling a.. through town last febuary and lost controll around a curve in the road and wrecked it. I hit the curb putting the cae airborn and landing on the drivers side and back onto the wheels. the whole thing cost me $1350 in court costs and the car is still wrecked, but it does still run and drive great. I am looking for a 240 or early 260 to transplant my drivtrain into. preferably somethingf with decent paint and body. close to the tri cities area and cheap are what I am looking for.
