my question...again
just general 280zx questions. i have an 81 na and its great.
i plan on turbocharging it, but the l28e and l28et both bolt up, right?
also ive heard the trans/rear is very strong and very weak from different people. whats the deal?

Re: my question...again
I'm not sure about you're engine questions, but I think it's pretty much a bolt on affair. Your transmission I've been told is plenty strong as long as you don't do any drag race style launches if you're over 300hp or so. I think you're diff. is an R200. If so, it's basically the same deal as the transmission.
Re: my question...again
u will need the wiring harness from a zxt to do a "stock" turbo conversion, the tranny & diff u have should hold up fine. i would take a look at the diff ratio [3.9] from your 81 and determine if that's what you're looking for. keep in mind that either diff will be a non-lsd. the donor zxt will have a 3.54 ratio. check out this link to play with final drive ratio's-http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/
the weak link [depending on your driving style] may then b the half shafts-turbos had cv joints. do a search here or at-www.hybridz.org for more info.

Re: my question...again
you dont need the harness from any zxt!
the turbo bolt on affair will work just fine with your existing harness and ecu. all you need is turbo injectors, turbo air flow meter, turbo fuel press reg, turbo fuel pump, turbo air flow meter rubber boot, turbo exhaust manifold with turbo.
good idea to hook up an oil supply line to your turbo. that is up to you but it is the life of it.
