Hydrolics on Clutch and Brake
Well gang, she's started and running, and after burning the fluid out of the engine she's quit smoking and other than a little miss, which I'm pretty sure is a fouled plug from all the fluid we poored into the cylinders, she purrs like a kitten. So now we go onto step 2. The emergency brake works and will engage and disengage, which does stop the car or allow it to be moved. The problem is that the brake pedal only travels about a quarter of an inch, lights the brake light, but seems to have no effect on the brakes at all. The next little issue with all this is as follows. If you recall from my earlier post, the clutch was sitting on the floor, you could pull it up and there was tention enough from the spring to hold it there, but if you applied any pressure it just went to the floor and stayed there. I changed the master cylinder and bled it (still no tention) so I changed the slave and bled the whole system and still no pressure and the clutch doesn't even seem to be moving the slave. When we were bleeding it, the guys underneath said that there was air coming out of the bleeder nipple, but it never go to the point that it would shoot fluid or build up pressure enough to push the clutch back up. I'm clueless and am dying to get this thing out on the road this evening, if possible, and start trying to assess any kind of front end parts that are going to have to be replaced so I will be checking back off and on through the day. Thanks for all your help with getting it started.

Re: Hydrolics on Clutch and Brake
Hallelujah!!!! It lives!!! There was just alot of air in the line, and took my dad and I a good hour to bleed off, but it works, and...the clutch seems to work too. The only "major" problem left is the breaks and we we took the calipers off we found one that the piston seems to be stove up on, so that will be the project for the next couple of nights. Thanks for the input and if anyone thinks of anything else, please let me know.
