Re: How much work to go from Digital Gauges to Analog?
well you'll have to switch out the entire dash board, shouldn't be too much work, just go to the junk yard to get the rest of the parts for the analog dash, then get a Haynes repair manual for the z at your local hardware store. It'll show you how, and if you dont need the digital dash anymore I'll be happy to take it off your hands for ya. thanks.

Re: How much work to go from Digital Gauges to Analog?
I went from analog to digital in my '80 NA. The digital instrument cluster plugged right in to the analog plugs. The only things I had to change were the temperature sending unit, and the fuel level sending unit. Evidently the impedence rating is different for the analog gauges. Anyway, I think that's all you would have to do is replace your digital sending units (fuel level and temperature) for analog ones.
Taking the cluster out is not really much work at all. Just remove the visible screws holding it in. Remove the horn pad from the steering wheel, remove the nut and washer holding the steering wheel and pull off the steering wheel. Under the dash (behind the lower dash panel with the light) you will find 2 bolts holding up the steering column. Remove them and push down on the column. Now the instrument cluster can be removed. There are 3 or 4 plugs in the back. Make note of where they go and also unplug the speedometer cable. There is a pigtail that is about 1 foot long. You might need it depending on whether or not your analog cluster has one with it or not. It is interchangeable. Now just go backwards through the steps with the analog cluster and you will be done in no time! Probably takes about an hour. If you've done it a few times you can cut that time in half or better.
Good luck!
