Help- pulled the wire out from my hood latch

the whole wire tore off at the base? then you're not going to like the answer I'll give you...
you'll have to unbolt the front 4 screws holding the hood in the front, and pry the hood up a little bit enough so that you can reach the latch from underneath. there's going to be a lot of swearing and punching of random objects, just so you know.
