Help! Gas overflow!
I just filled my new '72 240z up with gas today for the first time. I let the pump fill it to the top and shut off. Then when I was about to leave I noticed a very large amount of gas leaking out under the back of the car. It continued to leak for about 5 minutes continuosly. A person at the gas station mentioned that the gasket that connects to the tank from the fill up valve is probably cracked. Anyone know anything about this!? And if so how do I fix it?

The tank on the Z's have a bunch of hoses running in and out
of them and the filler neck for venting. Take a look at the condition
of your fuel hoses back at the tank. You will have to remove the
black plastic panel inside the hatch to check some of them out.
I need to do a technical article on this , since its a common problem.
BTW.. Mine leaks when I fill it to the top also

Yep, there are quite a few hoses, and some are hard to see. My car leaks out of the front fuel vapor hose. I keep meaning to order one, but never get a round to it. The best thing you can do (short term) is not fill up completely. Mine is fine below 3/4 of a tank.
