The How To Rebuild book calls for a 10mm. I reinstalled mine about a year ago, but I think I remember it being correct. Before you remove the head bolts, also be sure you remove the two little bolts that go down from the head into the top of the timing cover on either side. Sometimes they're well crusted and hidden with oil and dirt.

Edit: Never mind... just saw your next post, where you mention having just removed the head. That'll teach me to go away for a week. Lots of new (to me) posts. Glad you're making progress!
