Custom front differential mount

Just wondering if anyone has dimensions to make a custom front mount for a R200. I want to buy one but they are $50+ and I think I can have one made for $20. I just need some sizes.

one day when I was shifting gears it made a loud clunk from the rear end, like the rear end shifted. Now when I lift off the clutch I hear a small clunk from the back when it engages.. and then driving I hear a whooshing type sound from (i think) the back right. I think im going to replace the half shafts, all ujoints, mustash bushings and front bushing. Then new diff fluid.

I had the same prob after I installed the 3.9 R200. I took a new mount and welded angle iron as shown. The gap will allow the diff to move enough to dampen vibration for normal driving but can only travel a little way. It clunks slightly but I know the diff isn't hitting the floor. I've heard that solid mounts can break the mustache bar plus vibrations come in the car. Go to http://myzcars.spaces.live.com/ for a pic of my diff mount snubber, it's in album titled First gem mods.

I called the local Nissan dealer to find a price through my work.. They don't seem to understand what I am looking for.

Does anyone know the Nissan part number for the front differential mount?

Thanks,

Craig

Heres the mount going in my car. Mounts over the top of the diff.

Do a search for ron tyler mount and you should find the dimensions.

Is the R180 mount the same as the R200 mount?

My tranny and rear is from a ZX (unknown year)

When I swapped mine I had to use the one from a '77 because my car is a '70. All the suppliers show '70-'71 and late '71-'78 are different. $46 is the best price I've ever seen.

veyenyl i have that ron tyler mount as well. i have the urethane bushing ready to go in i just need to jack the car up and get to business. yes the mount goes on top of the diff so it replaces that strap over the diff.

When I look under the car it looks like the R200 diff pan, but just in case I want to know if it will fit both.

The diff noses should be the same. I'm not absolutely sure, but there's been a lot of people to swap R180's & R200's and the nose just bolts right in.

Who here has driven a car with a solid mount? Is it worth it to pay more for the real mount or use a solid mount that is a lot cheaper. My car already rides so rough.. i dont know how much rougher it can get lol.

apparently the lower mount can rip with enough force or something along those lines i read so thats what the main purpose is for the solid mount plus it wont shift at all etc.

The front mount says right on the Nissan website that it fits 1970-78

The 1975-78 ONLY came with R200s. So yes it should fit R180 and R200 if their description is correct.
